An extreme earthquake measuring 7.8 magnitude, the deadliest and strongest in the past three decades since Tangshan earthquake rocked Sichuan province of China on 12 May 2008, resulting in a massive destruction and leaving over 4 million people homeless while some orphaned.

As of 28 May, the death toll has soared to 68,109 with 364,552 injured and 19,851 listed as missing.* The number of people buried in the rubble is still escalating.
