Can I get a degree from TOA?
All students who have successfully completed the 3 year
Diploma can gain advanced standing into Degree/ Master programmes in any of our affiliated
universities in UK, AUS, NZ and US.
• Diploma – 3 years to complete TOA Diploma,
final year at UK / AUS / NZ / US under credit transfer
arrangement to obtain a Degree or Master qualification.

My English is not very good, will I have a problem
following the course?
Our English Placement Test enables our Admission personnel
to identify students who may require additional assistance
in English Language through our Intensive English Programme (IEP).
These students will be given the support needed to be
able to follow the course.

What is the English Placement Test (EPT)?
All applicants are required to sit for the English Placement Test (except for those in a position for an exemption) prior to enrolment in any course at The One Academy. The EPT is used to assess students’ readiness for college-level English /coursework to ensure a smooth progress of study.
There is no charge for taking the English Placement Test. Students who do not meet the minimum required score will be placed into a full-time Intensive English Programme (IEP) at an additional cost of RM2500.00 per semester. This is a preparatory course designed to help students acquire an acceptable proficiency level in English before gaining admission into any course at The Academy.

How can I exempt from the English Placement Test (EPT)?
To be exempt from the EPT, students must meet one of the following requirement and present proof along with your course application:
• An overall band score of 4.0 or above in IELTS (International English Language Testing System)*
• A minimum score of 450 for TOEFL Paper-based test*
• A minimum score of 40 for TOEFL Internet-based test*
• Completed ELS Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP) Level 109**
IMPORTANT:
* IELTS and TOEFL scores MUST NOT be more than two years old at the time of application.
** ELS CIEP Level 109 certificate MUST NOT be more than one year old at the time

Where and When do I take the English Placement Test (EPT)?
The EPT is administered by registration staff at the Student Support Centre, on the ground floor of the main building. The test is given on a walk-in basis; no appointment is necessary (you may arrange with your counselor if you wish to do so). The test must be completed within 60 minutes.

What will I get after completing the Intensive English Programme (IEP)?
Upon successful completion, students will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance.

May I work while I study?
Malaysian students are not restricted from working while
attending classes with us. However, you must be wise
to juggle your study assignments and classes with work
schedules.
For international students, there are strict rules on
working in Malaysia and you are strongly advised to
adhere to the regulations governed by the authorities.

How heavy are the assignment?
Each major with have different amount of assignments
with reasonable deadlines given. You must plan your
time properly and not wait to do complete your work
last minute.

Are the programmes you offer approved by MQA?
Yes. However, because new courses/subjects are offered from time to time we will inevitably have courses either pending MQA’s approval or in the process of being approved. For more information, you may refer to our Academic Affairs Department during office hours.

Does the course fee include art material used
during the course?
No. You are required to purchase the art material for the 1st time from TOA at an additional cost of RM200.

Do I need to get a computer when I enrol?
It is not compulsory to get a computer as our academy
has adequate computers to cater the needs of our students.
However, we encourage you to have your own machine/personal
computer to work on.
