THINGS
TO BRING
Cash
Bring cash of at least RM500, passport and the letter
of acceptance from The One Academy.
It is recommended to carry the rest of your money
in the form of bank drafts or Travellers Cheques
for convenience and safety purposes.
Do ensure that the amount of your bank draft will
be sufficient to cover at least the first 2-months of
your expenses. However, it is advisable to carry a little
extra cash and Travellers Cheques as in some cases it
might take up to a month for bank drafts to clear.
Remember to keep all these in either your hand luggage
or waist pouch where it will be safely kept with you
at all times and easily accessible. |

CERTIFICATES
/ OFFICIAL DOCUMENTATIONS
Bring along certified photocopies of your academic
qualifications (if possible in English) and other formal
identifications (if any).

HEALTH
PREPARATION CONCERN
It is strongly recommended to have all your inoculation
jabs before arriving. Hepatitis vaccination is an extremely
important pre-cautionary measure.
If you are undergoing any form of medication, it is
advisable to bring along the medicines, relevant documentation
as well as written prescriptions from your doctor. This
is a precautionary measure in case your medication is
categorized as a restricted drug in Malaysia.
In ensuring that you will be in the overall best of
health, do pay a visit to your local doctor, dentist
and optician before departure.

CLOTHING
Malaysia is a hot and humid country, therefore, bring
light clothing like cotton T-shirts, jeans and shorts
for guys; short sleeve blouses, skirts and jeans for
girls.
Sweater and raincoat or umbrella might be useful as
well as like any other tropical country, Malaysia do
encounter rainy seasons especially between the month
of October – February.
Not forgetting a set of bed sheets and pillowcases
to start of your first night in Malaysia.

HAND
LUGGAGE
It is advisable to bring along your daily toiletries,
bath towel and a set of clean clothes in your hand luggage
just in case your checked-in luggage gets misdirected
and it might take several days to a week for the airport
authorities to retrieve and return it to you. your behalf.

ELECTRICAL
APPLIANCES
If you are bringing electrical appliances, ensure
that it will not cause any excess baggage (Do find out
more information from the flight agency which you will
be flying with regarding the permitted allowance for
checked in and hand luggage.)
Do take note that the electrical appliances in Malaysia
operates at 240 volts and if your plug differs from
the Malaysian style plugs, rest assured that they are
easily available in shopping complexes like the Sunway
Pyramid Shopping Complex and Carrefour Hypermarket.

BOOKS
(READING MATERIALS)
Art and graphic related books are available in local
bookstores. Therefore, it is recommended to buy the
books here rather than in your own country. However,
it is fine if there are any special reference books
that you feel like bringing along as long as it will
not cause any excess baggage.
