It’s that time of the year again, for the much-anticipated ESMOD Kuala Lumpur Graduation Fashion Show 2019, where the graduating student batches – Dawn and Illogic, had unleased their masterpieces and truly taken over the runway at Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC), announcing their foray into the glitzy fashion world.
The stellar event saw a total of 111 amazing outfits by 26 young and promising fashion designers lined up, revealing a myriad of looks, inspirations, colours and personalities that trademark the unique styles of ESMOD KL’s fashion designers, providing a feast for the eyes.
One of the theme this year is Dawn by batch FD1509 consisting of 9 fashion designers who have put their best foot forward. The team were inspired by the end of nightfall which brings light, signifying the beginning of a new journey, aptly named as it reflects their feelings and emotions of graduating as well as their aspirations for the future.
Illogic is the theme chosen by the 17 aspiring fashion designers of batch FD1603. Their theme is represented by each individual’s personality and likings mirrored in their designs, which proved to be mesmerizing and unique in their own ways. However, it does not make much sense when seen together as a whole and may provoke illogicality.
ESMOD Paris Head of Fashion Design, Paul Marchand, was present during the graduation fashion show to bestow 5 prestigious accolades to the top students of each batch as a token of recognition and to honour their achievements thus far. These exemplary students have shown consistent dedication toward fashion design and showcased outstanding ability throughout their three years with ESMOD KL, earning them a nomination by their lecturers to receive these awards.
Their works have been judged by an impressive panel of prominent fashion designers in the industry in the names of Khoon Hooi, Bon Zainal, Carven Ong, Brian Khoo and also Paul Marchand himself. This grand event was also attended by Andrew Tan, the founder of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) and Andrews Models, as well as the families and friends of designers, members of the media and social media influencers.
