The Pixar Toy Story 3 Lecture Series went on for three consecutive days (10-12 August) at Technology Park Malaysia, Bukit Jalil, and featured nine amazing international animation specialists hailed from the world's leading animation studio Pixar, to share their invaluable experience working on an award-winning Hollywood animation production.

More than 400 participants consist of aspiring animators, both local and international, turned up for the seminar to get their first hand knowledge from the speakers on the process of animation which consist of film pre-production, characters creation, how to bring characters to life through digital arts and creative animation, as well as the technical challenges of surviving in the competitive creative industry.

With two event categories; 3D Animation Masterclass and Students' Seminar, both events catered to the needs of animation professionals and budding animators respectively. In conjunction with the prestigious event, another exclusive seminar was organised for 170 secondary school students and teachers who attended a one-hour seminar by concept artist Timothy Evatt in TGV Cinemas Sunway Pyramid to gain insights on the prospect of animation industry and his wealth of experience working in Pixar. The participants were further enlightened with a screening of Toy Story 3 and popcorn treats at the end of the seminar.

Back in campus, a one-day matte painting workshop was also held for a selected group of students from Illustration and Digital Animation discipline. They were given a rare opportunity to be placed under the mentorship of matte painter and shader painter Paul Topolos to learn the technical aspects of matte painting and were offered a similar experience of being trained by one of the best animation experts from Pixar.
