Bram Lee Chin Horng and his team mates Loh Yong Kang, Khoo Ting Cheng, Mark Chiew Wei Chien, Tan Guo Xiang and Teh Beng Eu and Vincent Tjandra with team members Au Chee Wai, Esther Yap Pooi Ping, Woon Kok Loong and Cheah Jin Eu won Excellent Works for their animations Nature's Roar and Experiment in Symphony respectively.
Bram, who now worked as a 3D artist in one of Malaysia's established animation studio, said the challenges involved in creating an award-winning animation lies in its pipeline and time management. "We learn to improve the techniques that we have learned through researching articles and video tutorials during the production stage. We manage to put up our best effort and I'm glad that our hard work paid off."
Vincent said that the team was surprised and excited upon knowing that they too won recognition in the Asiagraph Award. "The inspiration for our short film came from one of our team members. We tried to do something musical which challenges us to synchronise the animation, story and score at the same time," said Vincent, who now worked in world renowned visual effects studio Rhythm & Hues as a matchmove artist.
A winning work title goes to Timmy's New Exhausting Friend by Lee Yon Hui and his group members Chaw Hsien Ying, Hoo Mei Vien, Lam Ngai Charm and Lam Meng Lu. Another team led by Jarold S'ng Koon Shan, Lai Meng Guan, Carson Yim Kong Sen, Charmaine Lee Wai Fen and Andrew Tan Chi Yang also won the winning work title for their animation Code Red.
